Llandudno Transport Festival

Took the family to Llandudno today for a day out to enjoy the sunshine. Our Stag was the chosen mode of transport for the day. The only other old car we saw out on the roads was a Austin Healey 3000.

After arrival we headed to the Transport Festival. Two Stag seen in the car park plus four as exhibits. There also a lovely TR4A in the carpark. I was surprised the SOC was not represented.

On the way home after a visit to the beach we passed a red stag (top down) on the A55 Chester Bypass section at 7pm. Was that anybody on here? So, 7 stags seen during the day, or eight if you include ours

The Transport Festival is worth a visit if you happen to be in the area during the next two days.

Llandudno... yes it's a good show.... went there last year' always a good autojumble. Surprised you didn't run into the Manchester SOC....we're booked in there all weekend.

Well if the Manchester SOC were there they did not have a banner up and of the 4 stags on show, only two of them were side by side. The other two were a good distance away mixed up with all the other cars.

hi Bruce

i was on the A55 in red stag with the roof down but that was about 5 O'Clock

so not me (must be more stags around chester than i thought )may go to llandudno today if this rain ever stops

I was there, but in my Triumph 2000, if I dare admit that on here!! There was a very nice BRG Stag for sale and the few others mentioned on here. Its a very good show and well worth the trip out. I'll probably take the Stag next year.

I saw your car. NiceMy dad had two 2000's from new. The first one had leather seats which used to burn my legs (short trousers!) if the car had been left locked up on a hot day.

My brother inherited the second one and kept it for many years until its rear suspension collapsed.

Thanks Bruce. She's getting a little tatty now but was my everyday car for three years until I bought the Stag! The car has a lttle history in that the comedian Stanley Unwin bought it new, and he is still the previous registered keeper. The tale about the leather seats is very familiar!!

Whilst we are on about 2000 range I have had 5 of them and love them as they are dead reliable but nobody wants to pay the money they are worth so they don't get restored

Here's a photo of my 1973 2.5PI Estate. The body is 99% original - hardly been welded at all!

And my 1966 2000. Bought new by Stanley Unwin. I had to rescue this one from scrap! It went on to 100,000 miles on the journey to Llandudno.
