Re veneering

Looking to have the woodwork reveneered and would like to match one of the original woods that were used...... be it Walnut Burr.... or other.

I have a repatriated US export, originally white with tan interior but now Signal Red...

Existing (sad looking and split) is the same as the Stag shown on the 'Contac tUs' link at http://www.chapmanandcliff.co.uk/...can anybody tell me is this teak, Burr Elm, American straight grain...I have been reading the other posts and heard all mentioned.

As interior needs retrimming, probably in black, my next question is what wood would have been the norm with a red finish and black interior?

Grateful for any/all guidance or views what would look correct and original

I have a red stag with black interior. I had my dash re veneered by chapman cliff. Mine is verona burr. The guys at chapman cliff reckoned the burr walnut maybe too dark with a black interior, I took their advice!IMGP0590.jpg

I got the same guidance from Classical Dash and went for burr elm.

Hi Guys,

Original veneer is straight-grained walnut, I believe. Chapman & Cliff offer a very good service (and training courses, if you wish). I went on one of their courses some years ago and could send some notes on how to do the reveneering yourself, if you wish.
