It's worse than that. I filled up... with diesel. Got to 20 litres before I noticed what a complete nob I'd been!

I saw someone do that the other day at the local Sainsbury. They called out a 24hr service that specialises in extracting the diesel / petrol and flushing the system on the spot. Didn't get their name but I thought at the time what a good idea it was.

Only took an hour or so to drain it all out. I had the option of a "specialist vehicle" to come out and drain it on the spot (not part of the AA), but they wanted £180, so I got taken home instead. Took the remains to the dump and quite literally poured away twenty quid into the councils tanks.
