    Spring insulators front and rear

    Good evening all
Im going to order a set of lowered progressive rate springs from chris witor, but should i order new rubber spring insulators or his superflex ones.
Any opinions and experinces of rubber V poly(pardon the term)many thanks

I have not, but being the Superflex items they should offer you no more noise etc. than stock items in addition to outliving them. Chris is a very helpful chap when it comes to ordering bits .

As for Poly bits I can only talk from other cars. On my 'B (another car which suffers complaint from using Poly bushes) the ride and handling were improved with the Superflex items.

Only my personal opinion but for spring isolators, unlike say rear trailing arm bushes, would have no increased benifit from going poly. Even when you pull the original ones out they are still stoppingthe spring making noises against the chassis which is their only purpose. Its not as if they have any handling purpose. So you pay your money and take your choice.

My rubbers bulged out, no problem when I had 185 section tyres but rubbed on my 195's, so I changed to poly, no more rubbing. Can't comment on the handling as I changed to SPAX at the same time.

Given the poor quality of the rubber used in spares these days I'd opt for poly when replacing them.

I put rubber on the rears of mine. They lasted two years max before I had to change them again. I did the job properly the second time around and used poly!

                      Maybe, but is it pretty?

(apologies for such an awful joke, but it had to be done)

You must be on a roll .

For most classic spares I find the quality of the rubber is variable at best, with most suppliers not supplying rubber of that great a quality.
