I bought a soft top from Aldridge it seems that they make most stuff to order so it doesn't come quickly.

I don't have any experience of Rimmers carpets however Aldridges specialise specifically in vehicle trimming etc and, as such, I think theirs will be the highest quality. They certainly have a good reputation.

Paddocks supply Aldridge manufactured trim parts, although sometimes they offer them more cheaply that Aldridges themselves

          Cheers

          Julian.

I used coverdale and am very happy with them.

I requested swatches of each type ie Wool,Nylon in the colour you want.I then examined the pile thickness and depth.I also bent the swatch to see how much of the base layer would show through.

            I went for the wool.

            Hope this helps.

Always buy trim from Aldridge if you can, they're the specialists. They started off doing trim for jags and moved on to other classics. Been around for years and only up the road from me! Don't open on saturdays though!

                  Hi Neil,

What great service. As for adhesive, try none

It may sound odd but I haven't used any adhesive and it's worked well for me.

I wanted to be able to remove my carpets easily, in particular to reapply anti corrosion treatment in to the sills etc. So, I decided to try fixing with Velcro but I did a trial fit first just to make sure all was ok. Mine were Aldridge and, if yours are like mine, you will have to do a bit of trimming, especially of the sill carpets. Anyway, once fitted 'dry' they've been fine and so I've not felt any need for the Velcro or any adhesive

Obviously the four floor sections just sit on the floor, the seat belt runner covers are held by the seats and the transmission tunnel carpet is held down by various components. The sill carpets are held by the chrome trim and the door seal (careful trimming here) and that just leaves the rear heelboard section which I have 'trapped' under the rear seat.

I reckon it looks good and I can have almost all of the carpet back out in minutes. Besides, once glued then they can be impossible to remove without damage.

Go on, try it - you've got nothing to lose

                  Cheers

Neil, I like Julian did not go down the adhesive route, but fitted dry but backed up with good quality velcro for the front carpets. Honestly no problem with them slipping about and will be dead easy to remove if I need to for any reason.
I also think that with them being dry fitted they have seemed to found there own position and no creases, hope this makes sense.
If you go down the velcro route just make sure and remove all the old original glue. I removed what glue was hard to remove with a rough cloth and cellulose thinners. No problems, but ctry the cellulose on a small bit first just incase it
re-acts with paint. It did not with mine

Mine had Aldridge wool carpets fitted by the P.O. about eight years ago. They fit well, look good and are still in excellent condition.
