    bmw dIFF

After reading the post by ferds, it has got me seriously thinking about the BMW E30 diff replacement, I know that Westlake do a ready made converstion for about 1800 notes but these diff's can be bought for £50 - £100.
what is the exact model (I presume BMW 325i with 3.64 ratio) and how much needs to be changed? I can't believe that it will take more than a couple of hundred pounds to alter the mounting or am i missing something.
I had one of these BMW's in the 1980's and sold it to a work colleague after it had reached 175,000 and I know that he then ran the car to well over 200,000 - all with no diff problems - something a Stag diff could never do.

I'm with you Ian, I too had that model BMW (3 of) and the diffs are bulletproof. I suppose it needs someone who's good at grinding and welding to make the alterations to the mount / cage, and a good knowledge of stag mechanics.

Obviously I am looking at this as well...

Monarch do a conversion, which is cheaper that the SOCTFL one but it does involve fitting a modified subframe (included in the price).

I don't know how much money you could save if you sourced your own diff and bought the frame only... :?

Don't forget the drive shafts and prop will need looking at to fit.
