Has any one else had problems with the alignment of the Lumenition unit?
When I first fitted mine (2 years ago), it didn't work. I found that the rotor was not splitting the beam. I managed to get it to work by loosening the fixing screws, and forcing it towards the distributor spindle, taking up all the available tolerance in the holes.
Recently, the Stag has been missing under load, and I realised the tacho was flickering at the same time, so I concluded that the movement of the distributor baseplate by the vacuum advance was enough to stop it breaking the beam.
I have now opened up the mounting hole (see picture marked with arrow) to allow it to move nearer the spindle, and it is OK.
Has anyone else had similar experience?
By the way, my original installation was with a slightly worn original baseplate, and then I had the same problem again when I fitted one of LD Parts new baseplates, so I am convinced there is nothing wrong with the baseplate.
