The last drive in the Stag

To day is a sad day I have just had the last drive in the stag well for a month or two that is. I have put it on SOR and I intend to do quite a bit of work to it, it needs both doors repairing, may need new skins, rear arches need looking at and the rear suspension will have to come out and be re bushed then a re spray and I hope to have it back on the road by April . But it did take me two years to do the mini

        Hi John

Good luck with the work. Why didn't you do it over the winter?

        Regards

Good question Bruce the answer is because I have spent the last two years rebuilding the mini there are quite a few job that needed doing around the house, like new kitchen floor, lower the bathroom ceiling and decorate the hall stairs and landing .I promise to do all these before starting the stag and now they are done let the work commence
How is the paint match on the door now Brian

Best of luck mate, I have had to shelve more jobs on the stag whilst re-building a mini. Wifey keeps pointing out various jobs around the house and has even threatened to try some herself! But I know I would have to put them right afterwards so i may have it put the mini on hold for a few weeks too! I am now welding up the back end and boot floor etc. which isnt the best part to work on on the mini IMHO , the fronts done
9:30 pm finish last night went down badly too
Hope you don't uncover too much n the stag cheers Glyn

                Hi Glyn
I think compared to the mini the stag will be easy (famous last words )

If its any consolation I did find the stag easier to put right, although as its a fair bit bigger and heavier it takes more to move it about/lift and support it as you work on it. The mini just has rust in every seam or weld from what it have seen, even when it looks sound it's an accident waiting to happen! The stage seemed to be built better even though in my case it was 15 years older than the mini.
Just finished today, was cold in the garage back down to near freezing again
This is what it looks like at the mo all new front

                  Cheers Glyn
