    Wiring problems

Have an early mk 2 and when bought the previously owner kindly gave me the original starter switch as it had failed and been replaced.
The original switch being overhauled i decided to fit it last week only to find it wired as a mk1. At the same time was going to rectify a few electricsl faults she had developed whilst laid up over the winter!
First one was near side outer headlamp ceased to work but bulb ok, fuse ok, just no power to lamp. Earth ok as well. All other headlamps ok.
Second the off side side and indicator lights packed up. Earth ok, fuse ok, no feed, flasher warning light lights up and stays lit. No flash!
Then find head lamps had mk1 loom with blue white cut off in lamp.
has anyone had similar problem? Prior to this had not had an electrical problem.
    Appricate any ide

    Hi Mike
Corroded bullet connectors! These are used to connect main harness to the lamp wires and are easily accessible via the air intakes under the bumper.

Buy some new female bullet connectors (they are cheap!) then clean the male bullets with a Dremel wire brush or just fine abrasive paper, until they look bright. Then fit new female bullets. Job done.
