    Halogens

My Father has bought a set of Halogen headlights for his Triumph 2000 from Rimmers. The headlights although made in India, one has the traditional white Halogen label on it and the main beams don't. So straight away they look odd.

It amazes me that they call it a Halogen conversion kit but not one bit of it is Halogen and Indian. They couldnt even get the order right and it has taken 4 months to get them after the 3rd parcel!

Can you get these labels or shall we just keep them on his car and tell everyone that its a Rimmer Kit? .

He is really upset about and wanted to fit them today and they just dont look right. I have looked at their website and the photo is clever enough not to bring this to your attention. A proper caring supplier usually tells you these things bu then again, they are just a retail company like QVC.

    Hi Andrew,

Sorry to hear about the problem with your Father's lights, it must be really frustrating. Too late now I suppose but I bought a set of halogen lights from Paddocks (I think they are called Saturnus) for my 2.5 PI - the quality is extremely good and they look pretty much like the original sealed beams, though you can tell they are not. I'm not sure about the labels, I did not put any on mine as I wanted it to look fairly original. What I will say though is that I fitted them without a relay thinking that I would chance it. Mistake!! The dipswitch burnt out the other week so I now only have dipped beam

Thanks Brian. Have just fitted 3 of them and even one of them has a wonky halogen label! The other one is not fitting properly at the moment as the tabs on the light unit are wrong and need bending, but not in the mood to do it at the moment. There was a really with the kit. The same one as the Stag horn / overdrive. There was supposed to be a wiring loom as shown in their website, but that wasnt in the box either. Hopeless people. Cant phone them anymore as we have run out of vocabulary and it will get us nowhere.

He only got these units from Rimmers as they reimbursed him for rear light units on his Stag that has cracked lenses and fitting and they were new out of a box. Quality is far from what you would expect being so expensive compared to other suppliers. He should have got a set from Paddocks as they are fantastic and more than you need.
