    Distributor: rare early Mk1 type

One of my interesting purchases at Stoneleigh was a Stag ignition distributor. It is an early Mk1 single points type 41276 which has an adjuster on the outside to set the points gap.

I think nib has one fitted to his Mk1 car?

Just out of interest how rare is it? Does anyone know how many of this type were fitted or when they were introduced?

(I think I am turning into a stag nerd!).

Hi Chris,I have the dual points type distributor assuming its original I guess dating from 1971,going by what i've read the single point distributor was only put on the first few hundred cars which would make it very rare. The idea of an adjuster on the outside sounds like a good idea to me as they are fiddly to say the least to adjust in situ, hence why I find the easiest way to set the points is to remove the whole distributor(rotor arm pointing at no.2).
Chris not sure if you received my message as it did not show as going through on my message page but it was just to say thanks.
