handbrake switch

I'm trying to refit my handbrake switch but i'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong , when i touch the switch to the handbrake lever it lights up on the dash but when i try and fit it properly in the right position it does'nt work help please

Hi

Are you sure the connecting point on the handbrake lever is actually attached? i.e. make sure it has not fractured. Also try cleaning the contact face with some wire wool or scotchbrite pad.

Not sure about the contact point i've looked at the handbrake an where the swich is supposed to attach there is a slight recess
