Battery fixed, squeally steering pump pulley thing sorted, electrical niggles in hand....Sun's out, when for a spin, fuel pump failed in Waitrose car park. Back home on a trailer
.
That IS bad luck ! If it happens again (God forbid) tap the top of the pump sharply with the ignition on, it should start to tick, also make sure the button on the top of the inertia switch is down. As a short term fix, take the top off the pump and you can clean the points. If none of that works, come back on here. Martin.
Telling me! I gave the pump a few taps and it did manage to squeeze a few drops of petrol through, then nothing. I'm planning on taking it apart at the weekend on the basis that I can't make it any worse! Speak to you soon
I'd suggest replacing it with an electronic one then you can forget about it. Once mine conked out on me I didn't trust it again so replaced it - easy job too.
