    Hi all
Dave put this in the wrong section by mistake, and so didn't get any replies. I'm sure you can rectify that situation.

Hi Dave, welcome, I hope we see more of you It's a clumsey old fashioned system, but it will go on, I usually do brake work as if I'm talking to SWMBO - - - on me knees ! I don't know of a way of avoiding sore fingers. Martin.

        Hi Dave,

        Welcome to the forum.

The eclip should have its concave face facing towards the backplate and I've found that if you can get the wheel cylinder to stay in place (even with something like masking tape) and you can just get the clip started in the groove then a sharp tap with a hammer on a blunt screwdriver on the edge will usually get it in place.

Not sure if I've explained that very well but good luck. It is a bit of a pig to do, bit it is do-able

        Good luck.

        Cheers

Hey Dave, Welcome to the Forum, Where are you. I have the special tool that you use for easing the circlip on. If you're near me, you can borrow it.

            Cheers
