it certainly looks like their getting scarce as I had to plead with them to get the part before sending mine back (its a daily car!).
So that's on it's way.
Gentlemen - can you tell me what unusual tools i may require? This is so I can get the old one off quick and send it back (after all, I did plead and they said yes).
Second topic - anyone know where I can get the relays for the lecky windows? LD didn't have them - so they're getting rare. Or is there a more modern way to do it by getting an alternative relay that does the same? I've never worked with relays before so any help would be great.
Sorry for being cheeky and nipping in 2 questions on one thread!!! ;-)
Bl**dy Nora! Fitting the damn thing is not as easy as I'd hope.
I've given up now - 1.40pm
I have to do a bit of whacking with the hammer. At early a.m. time I don't think the neighbours would like it !

I meant 4 a.m. - see what tiredness does?
Anyhow - got it all back together so I have a virtual prize to hand out.
(opens golden envelope)
The winners are those who quoted the lower ball joint.
IT IS NOW FIXED !
Thanks a million for all your inputs - I also have a little 'self pride' in that I actually did the thing.
Basically because they ought to be in the same state of wear, and it's good practice to do complete axles whether it's suspension, brakes, tyres or whatever. Martin.
A combination of how long these things seem to take (double what you expect), hard cold concrete floor, and aging knee joints........... Softy, sensible, I like to be able to walk the following day.

I haven't got any knee pads, I've got a small selection of closed cell kneeling and lying down mats, that was a humourette, I'm with you all the way Martin.
I thought I'd just add an extra special thanks to all of you because when I started looking after the Stag it was water, oil and tha's about it. My knowledge has rocketed thanks to:-
Wheeler Dealers (TV prog)
Google
Haynes
but most of all.....
you lot!
So thanks once again - the thought of me doing a bespoke split of a ball joint would have meant nothing a yr ago - my confidence is growing and I have you to blame -errrr- I mean thank!!!
