Nice one Julian, says it all. I went on a training course one time, you had to get up and speak for 2 mins I made up this story about how we got oil from Alaska and brought it down to California and to offset costs we used the same tankers to ship strawberry milk back up. I never gave it much thought until later when I was asked if we did any other flavors other than strawberry. America is a large place but sometimes its like being on the largest island on the planet but don't knock it somebody has to serve the french fries and ask if you want ketchup with that.
Phew, that's a relief. I really didn't want to upset you guys from that side of the pond (although I know you're one of us, really !) so I'm glad it went down ok with you.
Hi Julian & Stuart, I do not think that America should be singled out. If you asked similar questions in parts of UK you would probably get similar answers. It beats me how children can be allowed to leave school without being able to write and do simple maths.
Peter, Cupar
You are right Peter but you have to understand having that British sense of humor sometimes you just cannot resist taking a poke at them I do it all the time and i catch crap for it, but then i can laugh at myself as well. I do all the Scottish jokes talk about current events etc the kind of thing I used to do when I was back in the UK can't beat good patter, helps the working day go by faster. One thing for sure in this life you cannot be to thin skinned. And I should know I grew up in Stirling and worked in Alloa.
