some of the wireing problems that i'm sorting through
Did you know that the instrument panel has just three short looms that end with block connectors underneath the speaker housing, plus two wires that end in bullet connectors behind the passenger glovebox. It is a doddle to remove.
If you were to take the instrument cluster out then a) you could tidy up its wiring away from the car and b) it would make it easier to see everything else that needs sorting.
Also, here's a chart that may be of help (as long as it's clear enough to read !) - it identifies what every wire does just from its colour:
