Fuel Pump

I posed a question a little while ago as to the type / make of my fuel pump fitted by the PO.

I took some pictures today as I was refitting my fuel filler cap.

Can anyone tell what I have ! is it an electronic one (It does tick like an original SU)

Ian, its not the original SU points type thats for sure.

I had one similar to that in mine when I got it. It did have points in it. The points corroded up so I stripped it and cleaned it up. I got about another 2000 miles out of it before it died again, by which time I was carrying a new one with me as a spare. Ended up changing it at the side of the M25!

The most important thing with the pump is the output pressure should be 2.7 psi. Before I had more information the prior owner had put in a pump made by Modpro and had two SU pumps in a box of bits, i messed with the SU pumps set the them up by the book and installed one of them I also have a fuel regulator set at 2.7 psi mounted to the suspension turret. Just in the past few trips the pump is now playing up. Three non starts evident by the lack of fuel in the glass filter, tapping the pump and fuel to filter and instant start. I will be changing out the pump and converting one of them to solid state.
