At the last trade shop I bought some Millers CRX 75w140 NT.
Anyone know this stuff?
Any good for the stack Diff?

What fluid are you guys using to top up the diff

I used a bog standard EP90 oil and some Wynns diff & gear oil treatment so as to nurse it through this year as I am going to change the diff next winter. It worked ok and even stopped an annoying little leak and it's a bit quieter.

I used the wynn stuff you mentioned last time but that is finished now.
So need some oil to use

as it's sometimes problematic getting oils sent abroad, and even things like EP90 are getting harder to get in 'modern' motoring stores, you might be interested in this shop which has a branch in Switzerland

They more or less just do classic oils, greases, lubricants etc.

I used a product made by Redline don't know if it is available to you the diff still whines starting at 50ish but it is all gear mesh frequency since I replaced all the bearings ,seals etc and set it up right I am waiting for the new crown wheel and pinions.

I recently had my diff rebuilt by the Diff Shop in Christchurch (NZ). Not much to most of you - reason I mention it is that they refused to put conventional oil back in and would only use synthetic. Reasoning was that conventional oils don't stick to the metal that well. This is of most importance for occasionally used vehicles or those parked over Winter. I found plenty of evidence of this when trying to source a replacement crown wheel and pinion. Most of the ones I looked at had been sitting for some time and the parts not immersed in oil were rusty and the Dif Shop guys wouldn't re-use them as they would likely whine.
If laying the car up for the winter it would be worthwhile to rotate the diff occassionally to help prevent this.

Opie Oils in UK have the redline products. The Ferrari set swear by their gear oils - especially 75W/90 NS which makes gear changing into second in a 348 almost possible!

I have used EP90 in mine with apparently no issues. A number of suppliers will sell you EP75W90 which I understand is also OK.
