Front damper assembly

Hi all, can anyone tell me the order in which the top of the front damper assembly is put together please? Other than the obvious large bits I have 5 washers. Two have little tabs that seem to locate into the rubber mounting top and bottom, then I have two flat washers one with a d in the centre and lastly I have a conical washer it is the last three that I am unsure of. The workshop manual does not mention the conical washer. I have a spring under extreme tension waiting to be captivated, I hope I can get it sorted before the spring breaks free and enters orbit.

Take a look at Rimmers suspension picture it shows a good exploded view

The conical washer is actually the 'collar' for the rubber gaiter and fits into a groove in the top of the gaiter.

Concerning the two large washers - one with a "D" hole - you'll find that the top of the suspension piston rod has a flat on part of it. In actual fact, those two washers can only fit in one position as one goes over the larger diameter part of the piston rod with the flat and the other one is stopped from slipping down the piston rod as it buts up to the rod where its diameter changes. The "D" washer is the lower one.

The washers with tabs have to be fitted the right way around, as one side (plain side without markings) is the bearing surface which goes up against the bearing sleeve in the top mount.
