Wiper motor best way to remove for paint

Gent's I have avoided removing my wiper motor to spray it silver as the paint has pealed off over time. However everything else now looks pretty clean but the wiper motor lets the engine bay down.

I have read that this can be a tricky job removing this unit, any suggestions or would it be best just masking everything of in situ and spraying it that way.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Just don't fancy cleaning up overspray

Hi Mike, removing it isn't that difficult. Remove the strap, that lets you twist the motor outwards to get to the cover screws, take them off, and the cover, dis-assemble the pushrod from the drive wheel and lift the rack clear, be very careful with the self park slider, white plastic, note its orientation and lift it out, the multi plug is underneath, with a little wriggling it will pull free, and Bob's your uncle. Good luck, Martin.

Mike, undo the cap nut holding the wiper rack tubing first. It will make it easier to rotate the motor and avoid possibly bending the rack tubing. The rest is as Martin wrote.
