    Brake pressure switch.

The brake warning light on the dashboard has come on and after checking the two metal connections in the switch one has broken off.
Is there a universal switch I can buy or do I have to use the Triumph 'original' one, which at about £25 seems expensive.
Once again thanks to all those who reply and help us novices out.
    Andrew.

Have similar problem Andrew and don't want to fork out £25 either. These switches seem to be like hens teath mate.
Will probably have to fork out for a new one though

Hi Andrew, the switch only has one wire attached, it's a double plug with only one connection, uneven pressure moves the shuttle and makes an earth, you have a failed / leaking circuit. Several Triumphs of that era used PDWA valves, but there's no universal one that I know of. Start looking for leaks, unless of course you've been bleeding the brakes with too much enthusiasm. Martin.
