    oil pump advice please

    hi Guys,

pick your brains again time please, i have a new oil pump fitted by wards on the stag, it gives me good pressure, 50 on tick over etc, i have just bought one from ebay, an original which would proberbly give me the usual 25, i'm thinking about replacing the spring in mine to lower the pressure.

question is should i do it or not, will the high pressure cause me problems in the future, i really dont know, or should i just leave it alone.

    thanks in advance Alan

Alan this has been covered on numerous post's, and the opinion is that the original spring should be installed as the new County pumps deliver way to much pressure. I fitted a county pump 3 x years ago and changed the spring out on the original pump into the new County pump. My pressure seems ok and no problems.
However I'm sure that those on here will again reply and advise why the over pressure can cause problems

i have read a few posts Mike, it has pushed me to buy a second hand pump just for the spring to be honest, i'm surprised that wards fitted it, but hey ho we live and learn, i'm not impressed with them or the service to be honest, a lot of people will be i'm sure.

thanks for the reply Mike, i just want to make sure i go down the right route
