    Electronic Distributor chopper

Gent's had a look inside my dizzy cap this afternoon, to check all was well and clean enough. Unfortunately this is what I have found. Not sure if I can source a replacement chopper like this. Not sure what make of electronic ignition system it is, as it was in the car when I bought it.
Also god knows what would have caused this, as it's split almost the full way down.
Would super glue give a temp fix for this, until I find a replacement???

      Mike,

It looks very much like Lumenition. Have you got a module like this mounted anywhere (usually on the bulkhead):

You should be able to glue it as a temporary measure, but get hold of a replacement as soon as you can.

Paul the ditributor rotar arm sits on top of it, nothing else here that comes out easily. Yes Lossie beach would have been spot on today

Yes dave I have that I'll check tomorrow when it's light but I'm pretty sure it's Lumenition.
Dave can you contact them for a replacement chopper do you think??

If its a Lumentition it will have a power/control unit somewhere nearby (ribbed dull metal box about 4x3) with a power take of usually from the inertia switch (at least mine is). I might be wrong but wouldnt any 8 sector chopper work? Sorry if you already know the Lumentition details.

              I'll try and be quicker.....

I recall surfing in canoes off Lossie beach 40years ago whilst attending an outward bound course at nearby Burghead, great days!
If you need a fix for the rotor, try Qbond if you can get it, wonderfull stuff.
