How do I find out my cars history? I've found that it had a different reg from the one I've got! There's loads of companies online but are they trustworth? Thanks in advance Tony

Do you have any history with the car in terms of old receipts with a former owner's address? I sent a letter to a former owner of my car asking if he could tell me anything about it. Like any enthusiastic Stag owner he was very forthcoming (http://maddesthouse.wordpress.com/20...think-you-are/). Obviously if you don't have any receipts it's not an option, but if you do, don't be afraid to ask.

You can write to the DVLA and for a small fee they will send you a list of previous owners etc. A few forum members have done this, maybe one of them will confirm the procedure I think there's a certain form to fill in.

For a substantial fee, they will send you a document with all the fabrication and shipping details.

Hi Tony

It will cost you £5, but you get previous keepers info, changes to reg etc.
Just say you are compiling a history file on the car you are restoring.
