    RE: Sump Gasket.

Hi all, I've spoken to someone who used a cork sump gasket, and, being daft, I can't remember who it was, can anybody help please ? or suggest where I might get one (beg beg) Martin.

I am sure LDparts do it. Only for the BW 35 though.
    Sukh.

      Hi Martin,

The OE gasket was a lot thicker than the aftermarket ones that were available for many years. But LD parts now supply the correct thickness item which should be much better.

Thanks Dave, but that's the thin paper one. Martin.

I bought a good thick gasket from Paddocks a few months ago, just in case when I changed my timing chains. Thankfully I didn't need it.
It's not cork but Paddocks explained that it was an improved thickness and thickness to original.
Send me your address in PM and I'll gladly post it foc

              Regards

              Steve

No, it's 0.9mm thick. The thin ones are only a few thou and pretty useless..........

I used an LDparts one last year and all seems to have gone well (famous last words !)

                  Cheers

Martin I also bought the Paddocks one when I did my chains etc. It was pretty thick and to date absolutely no oil leak from it.
However I still have a slight leak from the pump or pressure sensor housing but this will have to wait till later.
No problems with J.P. gasket mate
