Sealing door window frames to door

Apart from the various interior and exterior window trims, which I've already got fitted, what is the best way to seal up the gaps round the leading edge of the window frame where it enters the door at the hinge end of the door ? Dum dum ?

Hi Richard, I'd go with DumDum, at the back edge as well. Martin.

Thanks Martin. I guess it's a relief at least to be getting to that stage !

Dum Dum is ok for small gaps.

Sometimes the gaps are too big for just dum dum so a piece of black foam rubber helps.

There are 2 secrets to staying on top :- 1. Don't give everything away.
          2.

They show 3 available. I'd buy them if I were you. I heard that Dum Dum ceased manufacture about 2 years ago and remaining cans are (apparently) being sold under the counter. Forums worldwide are trying to track down the remaining tins and even eBay doesn't turn them up anymore.

Paddocks and LB restorations had some tins a couple of months ago.

              Gosh - I didn't realise I was sitting on an investment !

I have two tins (which I'm afraid I do need !) and haven't a clue where they came from ! It was ages ago.

Apparently 3M Strip Caulk is the stuff to use instead of Dum Dum, or so t'interweb tells me!

Dum Dum is available off the shelf at my local motor factors. Never had a problem buying it.
                    Cheers

You have obviously bought a tin from the last batch they made. I have talked to the makers and this is the problem that they have found since trying to come up with an alternative ingredient to the original that was HSE`d off the market. Thats why they have now stopped making it. You need stock that is about three years old or older.

Ooh might have to call in when next passing...
Just my luck it is no longer available now and they have sold out in the last few months or so.
It's one of those substances that when you need some, nothing else can really do.
