you may just be buying the same problems, i think some of the reconditioners go a little over the top, why do you need new con-rods for instance? are you capable to strip your own enginge ,farm out the engineering bit, new crank and bearings,rings pos' pistons and rebuild.

sounds easy!! I have stripped an engine just starting to put it all back together, as a spare ,keep you posted,
