    Sticky fuel pumps

    Hi All
My Stag often only gets used every now and again, sometimes sitting for a couple of weeks. I experienced occasional problems where the car started and got just outside the garage before dying on me. Not being mechanical it took a while before I sussed out this was the fuel pump and a tap with a blunt instrument generally sorted it. Since buying a CTEK and keeping the battery topped right up I have not experienced the problem "touch wood". Now when I switch on the ignition I get a very healthy clicking from the pump. Does this make sense?

    Thanks
    John

I agree. When buying a stag the first thing I would change is the fuel pump. I have a perfectly good looking SU on mine but thats coming out soon to be replaced by a modern electronic one (from LD Part). I dont know about the CTEK ones though.

I think the CTEK is a battery conditioner Chris
My opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Sorry. Didn't make that clear. The battery being charged up all the time by the CTEK seems to help the pump.
