I finally got around to fitting the replacement Springs and Spax Shocks that i bought since obtaining the Challenger wheels these being 7inch wide were rubbing against the wheel arch under power.
Also since buying the car four years ago it was always slightly lower on the right hand side when viewed from the rear. this was put down to the battery, driver and fuel tank allbeing on the right. Too many Fat B#stards sat in the drivers seat or even incorrect pulling when a major rebuild was done over 20 years ago.
Well two identical springs from Rimmers and all sits square even the wheel centre to top of wheel arch measures fourteen and a half inches both sides. So all of the above wrong see springs pictured below.
The resulting test drive with the shock set at five notches from soft was no rubbing and a firmer feel to the ride but not so firm that fillings fall out
We also replaced the alternator with an 80amp one from Wards, What a pig to fit, if it wasnt for the fact they had no stock of the conversion bracket and didnt know how long before they got more we definatly should have moved it.

So now much happier with Stag again the wheels look great they dont rub. The battery now is getting a charge and even the rear lights are brighter now that i have stuck foil on the reflectors and dishwashed the lenses. Pity it rained
