I've just returned from a 75 mile journey home from Clive Tate's house where he has fitted a ZF 4Speed gearbox for me, what an improvement. That's my Stag budget for the year gone now but I'm glad I made this change.

You kept that quite Ian,
I'm very envious, it's on my wish list. Can I ask is that with a working speedo as well.
I suppose that's the E type put on hold then
Ian

Hi Ian
I plan to get mine done, whats the current price of the conversion and does Clive supply everything. Is your existing gearbox taken in exchange or do you have to dispose of it yourself
Thanks Ged

Yes Ian, the speedo works fine, with my 3.45 diff it reads around 2mph high at 70 and I'm fine with that. E-Type postponed until I can sell some stock tax free, can't afford to take the hit right now.

Clive supplies everything with no exchange required, £2050 for the box, £250 for fitting plus ATF at cost.
I too had a 4sp fitted just last week by Clive - he must be a very busy man! Must say you couldn't wipe the smile off my face all the way home up the motorway!
My gear selector seems fine and more or less lines up as previously, found no problem with selecting any gear, tend not to look at it in use anyway. Speedo reads remarkably accurately too...all good so far :-)

Same here, I have a 4sp legend and may change it at some point but for now it's not an issue. My speedo is 2mph fast at 70 which is fine by me (3.45 diff)
Yes it all looks completely standard and all the positions are selectable, just the steps are closer. I never look at the legend so am not worried that the detents do not quite line up.
