    electrical gremlins continued

I am delighted that almost all electrical gremlins now appear to be sorted - for the first time, I even have footwell lamps working as they should.

I said almost all - all I get for the horn at the moment is a click from the relay, oh and wipers are only working slowly on first speed and intermittent and not at all in second (fast) speed. Funny, because wipers have never given me any trouble in the past.

Any ideas? Is it coincidental that wipers and horn aren't working properly?

    Thanks

I would look to your fuse box first (check the fuses are all good (they can partially work, or if old produce funny symptoms due to dirt etc.)) before checking out your relay board connections and relays.

I would also check the wiring from the fuse box to the column as a precaution. In my case, someone had chopped the loom at the steering column and put a load of block connectors there which cause a couple of electrical issues for me until I remade the loom with solder etc. (why this was done when the main loom connector is not far away...).

Whereabouts are you? I have a spare relay board you could try.

Horn now working - found that wiring to horn units themselves was broken. Now I just need to know why wipers are not working on fast speed but working fine otherwise.

There are 2 wires from the wiper switch to the wiper motor, one for each speed so one speed workign points to the wiring or wiper switch. The problem is likely to be at the switch end and dirty contacts. Not sure if it is posssible to swap the wires over at the switch but if you can that would prove the switch.
