    Wiper arm

Hi all, a bit of an obscure one here, but does anyone know how the pin in the drivers pantograph wiper arm is secured into the fixing plate that is attached to the wiper spindle?

    Many thanks

If you mean the 'ball joint' its riveted to the base plate.

The replacement arms dont have a ball joint but a twin - axis pivot instead, also riveted to the baseplate......sometimes known to become unriveted.....can be carefully re-riveted after removing the whole arm and baseplate.

The octagonal nut can 'resist' removal.....but is available to buy new.

Try not to damage the wheel box thread.

Thanks for that. It does make sense now that it has become un riveted, re rivetation to follow!

      Regards.

If re-riveting is not possible, countersink the rear of the plate slightly, shorten the damaged rivet end, reassemble, weld & grind flush.
