GRRRR, people keep hitting our Nissan!

    Hi All

Some of you may remember me posting on here in January that whilst parked outside our son's school, somebody decided to stuff their car into our Nissan. Lucky Su was not injured despite being in the car at the time.

Well, a similar thing has happened again. This time Su was sitting in the Nissan, stationary in traffic near the railway station. A taxi comes bombing out of a side road ans stuffs the car behind ours up the rear which in turn hits ours. Again Su was not injured and our car was saved by its towbar. The Astra which was jam sandwiched was not so lucky. Our towbar is bent back at an odd angle but the bootfloor and chassis rails appear fine. I have been winding Su up by saying that I will fit target roundels to the Nissan or buy her a second hand dodgem car from a funfair.

Just glad it wasn't the Stag or GT6 as their crash worthiness is nothing compared to a modern car.

Looks like you have a car like my Accord - bought it brand new in 2001, 5 days after getting it the dustman did a grands worth of damage to the OS, 2 months later both OS doors stoved in when in the supermarket car park and took 2 months to get a paint match right (metallic blue). They get it right and 3 months later the same doors are taken out in another supermarket car park - two new doors again.....

Jump forward 2 years and OSR wing stuffed while I was in the bakers.... luckily someone saw it and left the reg of the car that hit it, and their mobile as a witness.... the same day I picked it up from the wing repair, some ignorant cow threw open her Renault door in the car park into the freshly painted door (blending in the wing) and dented it, taking a large chunk out of the paint - she threw her toys out of the pram when i insisted on her insurance details...... back to the body shop again....

A few more years of drama free motoring, and 1 o'clock in the morning and a Fiesta, driven by an unlicensed and uninsured teenager stuffed it so bad in the NSR that the OS suspension is bent under the car against the kerb......amazingly the Fiesta still moved and they scarpered - my local Mafia found them for me....

At no time during any of these prangs was the car occupied, or even unlocked - and every time was able to collar the guilty party and get them to admit liability and pay up...... but I am convinced that my insurance was affected all the same....

Great car, almighty bloody jinx on it.......

Your insurance is affected - for they see you as a bad risk.
A protected no claims percentage does not protect you from higher premiums because of perceived higher risk if you have made a claim.

A few years ago we had a home insurance claim because of a random washing machine failure - total of 7K of water damage.
Trying several years later to get insurance for a rental property was a nightmare - the property was a completely different one, 30 miles away - with a brand new washing machine!
The claim originally was because of the random failure of a washing machine.
Yet we got well and truly shafted - because we were now "a bad risk"

      Lies, damn lies, and statistics.
