Is there a way of opening the Heriatge CD Rom with Windows 7? The parts book diagrams on it are so useful but I have never been able to open it with anything other than XP
Hi Brian, you set alarm bells ringing so I tried, Windows 7 doesn't even know it's there. I went to CD drive and it requested a disc, I duly inserted it and it started to download, I haven't waited to see if it will run, as there's one hell of a lot of stuff there and I'm no expert. Fingers crossed someone can help. Martin.
Find help and how-to articles for Windows operating systems. Get support for Windows and learn about installation, updates, privacy, security and more.
Pm your address Martin. I'll send you a copy of Ubuntu, a Linux operating system that you can run from the cd without installing. Run the system up and swap to the heritage disc, and I reckon it would run that disc.
Beauty of Ubuntu, is when you are done, just reboot without the Ubuntu disc in, and everything is back to normal
I believe it is an issue with the security system employed by Adobe, rather than Heritage.
The main items on the disk are the parts book and ROM. A good search on the net will dig up copies of those - or buy a paper copy. much more practical IMHO. (Elbows are resting on the parts book as I type!)
Hi all, thought I'd try again, Heritage now state it won't run in Windows 7 - so no help there. I've tried your prog a few times Russ, but it won't work. Any other thoughts out there - PLEASE ! Martin.

i have the same problem it will not run with windows 7 ,i have not tryed this yet but should work, install second hard drive, and load windows xp on the second hard drive, the original hard drive will be the master and the second the slave
So tell me Dave..... are you going to dismantle the PC to swap the drives over as the PC will boot to the master, which currently is 7? I'd be curious too how you will install XP to the slave while it's running in 7.
I could get the idea of a dual boot setup, but you'll have to start that from scratch and it isn't worth it - you'd be better off getting a £30 clunker from a car boot sale and just run XP on that when you need the rom.....
