Door side impact bars

I've seen a few questions asked regarding the possibility of fitting side impact bars to the Stag doors and thought I would take the opportunity to post a couple of photos while we were replacing the door skin on my son's car.

These bars were fitted to the Australian export cars. Both my car and my sons car were built in 1977.

My sons car is 67th from the end of production.

The skin is being replaced because of previous accident damage, we thought we would repair it properly rather than replace the 10mm thick filler that is currently residing in parts of the old doorskin!

Somebody used to sell these for fitting when reskinning.

I seem to remember it was Martin Thaddeus who used to post here, but who I don't remember seeing for quite some time on here. He does have a column in one of the monthly classic mags if anyone is interested.

i bought the side impact bars for my car from martin,he fitted my side impact bars at last years national day while doing a door refurb

Martin fitted mine about a year ago now. He's still around but can't post here as he is not a SOC member. If anyone wants to get in touch with him just PM me and I'll past on your message. (I'd rather not publicise his email address publicly)
