two holes drlled in front panel

Hi all,
just a quick question, does anybody know why there should be two holes in the front panel under the two inner headlights.My body shop bought this panel off Rimmer Bros they say and they have asked me why does it have the holes there? I have no idea as the other panel didn't have any?

If you mean drilled holes, it's a second hand panel. Martin.

probably an other car with fog lights................ either that or it had a collision with a very short animal with very widely spaced (and sharp) horns............ fog lights I think

Hi Tony, it's not just you. Mine has these two holes as well and I've wondered what they were for.

The panel was supplied to the PO new by Rimmers in the late 80s.

I have just looked at the photo of the panel on rimmers site and the one in the photo has no holes I would phone them and ask

Do you mean these holes? I'm pretty sure my front panel is original, and it has a depression and a hole under each headlight (4 in total). Looks very much like they are drains.

yes very small holes , like the photo, but have only got then under each of the inner headlights.They are not big enough to fit fog lights and are too near the lights to fit anything. Will try and take a photo later as I am going down to the body shop. Its not a second hand panel as they have shown me the invoice from Rimmers. Failing that I will ring Rimmers up in the week.

Since they look like they are in the bottom of a depression in the panel I would think they are drain holes

I was looking at the wrong panel (thought you ment the front lower panel )the holes in Drews photo ARE drain holes and should be there

Are these the holes you are talking about?

They don't look to have been drilled , they are not recessed and the only reason for them being there as far as I can see would be to mount some kind of badge bar.

thats them Mark,
couldn't get a good photo today myself , but yes those are them.
cant say I have noticed them before.

i have these too, i tend to agree they are drainage point, recessed holes and my front panel is original as well
