I quite like Spitfires - far better than Midget IMHO.
Funny how Triumph seemed to make an excellent job of facelifting models. I reckon the last Spitfires looked so much better than the earlier ones and the TR6 looked a million dollars compared to the TR5, despite being mechanically identical and using the same centre section, screen and doors. Even the 2000 Mk 2, with it's Stag front and back ends, looked so different and so much better than the Mk1.
I wonder what they would have done if they'd ever done a proper facelift to the Stag
Couldn't resist posting this, here is my other toy,I almost checked to see if it was still in the garage after seeing Ian's photo. It's identical, even has same exhausts. I've owned it since 1979.
Are the twin pipes Standard! never really noticed before.
Ian.
Nope, but a popular mod for the 8-port head, that plus a four-branch extractor manifold and a slightly richer pair of mid/top end needles should be good for an extra 15bhp, maybe a couple more if it as the original mk3 cam still in it
