Ive taken off the starter motor today to repair the solenoid, Jees what a job. The Triumph designers must've had a smile on their face unless they had 6ft rubber arms.

Hi Dan,
Two long extensions, plus possibly a short one, fed in from the front, just above the exhaust shield, should get your top starter bolt in or out reasonably easily
It's easier with an assistant.

Easy with something like this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Signet-3-8...#ht_2326wt_902 also comes into it's own when taking the gearbox out. you can get to all the top bolts once you have undone the gearbox cross member.
