    Hi Trevor
Pumps have O-ring seals which need no sealant. If your pump is old, the seals will be brittle; then just replace the O-rings. Get a kit from LD Part.

      Hi Trevor
I would also advise you to change the two rubber “O Rings” on the oil transfer housing (214020) which is situated just above the oil pump these seals often leak, it is easy to get at when the right-hand exhaust pipe and oil pump are off.

Thanks for your help lads i did intend to replace the seals but as there doesn't seem to be a lot wrong with the old ones i was just wandering if any sealer was used. I will replace the seals and hope for the best, thanks again for your help.

          Hi Trevor,

I've got this job to do as well soon. I seem to recall that the two o rings are slightly different in size, so make sure they are the right way round.

          Cheers...Al

Recently done a couple using LDparts o ring kit - good kit, they fit well, and you have to be complete moron to get the seals wrong... as mentioned, it is definitely worth doing the transfer housing rings at the same time, and the oil switch and/or pressure gauge threads with a bit of ptfe tape while the housing is off..... make sure you don't overtighten the tapered threads and crack the housing though...

Russ your right i need to do things like the oil switch connector while i've got the pump and filter out the way i've got my 3 piece o ring kit for the pump so i will be in the garage this morning, next one will be the rear oil seal were the prop shaft enters the gearbox then hopefully i will have a dry garage floor .Thanks again for your tips. All this rain is giving me extra time to do these jobs i intended to be ready for the road on 1st May only a week late if the sun comes.
              Regards
              Trevor

Did mine today, o rings were pretty flat and hard and last done 4 years ago when engine was rebuilt
Didn't look like the relief valve had ever been out judging by the split pin.

Hardest part is getting the exhaust off and on!
