When I bought my car I took little notice of the speedo reading as with this age of vehicle they could well be wrong. For me, the condition of the car was the most important thing.
Anyway, during my 100ish mile drive home I noticed the speedo at 00032 miles and assumed that a new speedo had been fitted. A while later, when I was looking through the many MOTs that were in the paperwork I realised that it had just passed the 100,000 mile mark on my journey home
It's not often you can say that you've bought a 35 year old car with a genuine speedo reading showing zero - plus it's been handy as I know exactly, and easily, how many miles I've done. I'm off in a rally tomorrow and it will pass the memorable 6666 mile mark.
