    Rad Level

I know this has been discussed before but with a standard expansion tank set-up with the 20lb cap, where does the coolant come up to in the rad after you have left it all night to cool down? Mine is always at the bottom of the stub/top of the top hose even after I have filled it up to near the top of the stub and most people say their's is the same.Someone said it's due to how the thin overflow pipe is routed,I wondered if it's due to the top hose running uphill?

Perfectly normal Mark, they're all the same, it's not the uphill thing, sometimes I leave my old girl on a sloping driveway and it makes no difference. Martin.

Hi what you have is not unusual however in a perfect world the water should be bottom of threads in stub.any lower and when water contracts it is easier for air to enter rather than water being draw back from bottle.
reasons can be inlet manifold gaskets, any high mounted hose not sealing correctly.filler plug seal, hose to bottle or bottle stub.
easy answer is keep checking disributor/block area for water i.e. gaskets hoses in eng vee, replace bottle with high mounted type and still keep checking for leaks.
          hope this helps Mike
