    Bonnet bar

Can someone let me know the length and diameter of the tube/pipe that runs across the inside of the bonnet please? Mine is missing and I have come across some cheap stainless tube that should do the job if it is the correct diameter.

    Thanks in advance,
    Raoul

Hi Raoul, there's a problem with stainless tube, there are two slight bends in the bar and I doubt it would bend without kinking, and I think you'd have difficulty crushing the ends suitably for the fixing holes. Martin.

Looks really good - How did you 'crush' the ends without the chrome flaking off?

I think Alan made the batr with the 15mm piping and then had it Chromed. Copper and Chrome, cant get any better than that.

Ah - I thought he meant pre-chromed water pipe - that makes more sense.

Hi Raoul, I used 15mm s/s tube, quite easy to put a slight curve in it & flatten the ends by squeezing in a vice, go for it,

That's good news Bob, I like stainless, no sign of it splitting along the "seamless" seam ? Martin.
