Electronic Ignition initial set up.

Have had electronic ignition Lumenition Optical on a recon dizzi from Rimmers single point type with adjuster. All is well except timing is "happiest " at about 24 btdc. It has dawned on me that the daisy wheel might be breaking the beam at the wrong time. How can this be adjusted so I can accurately set timing to 14 degrees. Is there anyway of moving the beam anticlockwise or altering the daisy wheel. Have spoken to Lumenation HQ but not very helpful. I'm sure some one knows haow to make these initial set ups. Mike

Silly question but which HT lead are you taking the timing off, or are you checking the ignition timing in another manner?

I'm coming off no 2 with vacuum disconected and around 800 rmp. Have turned it back to around 17 BTDC as was worried it might be pinking quietly . Not as responsive though. If I switch to higher octane do I advance or retard and by how much.
