    Air intake gaitors

These gaitors are rubbish quality ! I have gone through 3 so far.
Anyone know of good quality ones out there that will last? please advise. I don't like the look of the silicon ones from wards.

Yep, mine only lasted about 6 months.

Although I'm not keen on silicone either (wherever it's used ) I looked in to getting one from Wards just so the damn thing would last, but when I asked they didn't have any and didn't know when they were getting any more.

I got mine from LDparts and, I must say, it's the first thing I've ever had from Peter that hasn't been top quality. When I spoke to him about it, he said 'they're all like that'

    Cheers

Spoke to Wards just now, the chap who does the Silicon ones have broke the "tool", so not in until end of Summer.

Wards are going to have him replicate the original one (with flutes)so should look good. Will get one when available, so in the mean time unless anyone got a spare I will have to go to Peter for one (LDparts).

      Cheers

As well as ones with flutes, do they do one with bells and whistles?
        The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

The air intake gaiters that Robsport sells come from the same supplier as the drag strut bushes and front suspension gaiters that are also made correctly, and made to last. They may cost a bit more but are worth it in the long run. From what I have been reading lately on the Forum it seems that shopping around for the "Best deal" or in other words "Cheapest" rubber components, is turning out to be a false economy. Hopefully if people go for the better products, the rubbish ones will disappear. Mike.

Am I right in saying that the ones that Wards used to sell were didnot have flutes and were blue. only I rember seeing them somewhere and when mine fell to bits (6 months) I could'nt find them again. Graham

Mine's black, though I haven't fitted it yet, I like the look of the pleated one. The most I've got out of one is a year, so God knows why. Martin.
