Hi Colin, sadly no, the old boys used to put Fullers Earth (clay) in, that silenced them for a bit, but accelerated wear. Martin.

Brilliant stuff, but it won't help with the noise. Martin.

Yes, I put some in my noisy diff a couple of years ago. The noise came back not long after.

I put some Wynns in mine it's for leaky and noisy diffs. It didn't cue it but definitely made an improvement so I guess I would recommend it. I did change the oil as well.

I use Penrite EP85 - 140 oil in mine which did have the effect of quietening it slightly and also slowed the leak I have a little. It has bought me a little time but a diff rebuild will still be needed. May be worth a go...

Turn the volume up on the stereo until you can afford to change it

My diff became noisy on a round trip to the Isle of Wight last Spring. Glad I took it apart straight away as one of the bearings was disintegrating rapidly, at least I got away with a bearing set rather than needing a crownwheel and pinion which the rapidly accumulating swarf would have destroyed in no time
