R U actively participating in anything organised to celebrate the Royal Jubilee?

I think it, like the Olympics, is a complete waste of time and money that could be better spent. I seriously doubt that even 10% of the UK population will be doing anything re the Jubilee, I would be surprised of more than 50% of the population are even aware that it is about to happen - or what its all about (if anything).

So, I'm interested to find out what you will be doing on the great day................ I'll be decorating (if SWMBO has her way)

Absolutely not, complete waste of time. All those service personnel had to lose a weekend and who knows how much rehearsal time for that nonsense today, aren't our forces stretched enough?

No, going to the Lake district in the Stag for the week. We went to Southern Ireland for the last one to get away from it but didn't have the stag then so went in our Peugeot 406 coupe.

Will be supporting our pub where we have our clubnight-a pint of beer at 1952 prices, 3d, providing you pay in old money. I bet some of you Scotsmen have still got some of that currency stashed away, with a bit of effort you could even enjoy yourselves

The answer's no, but I am rather chuffed that E 11 R has made it to this celebration. As for the ulimpiks ? what a monstrous politically driven, money wasting, inhuman, time wasting load of CRAP ! I'm thinking of feigning death so I don't have to talk about it ! "allo - yoo watchin the limpics ?" Pissed off of Brixworth.

I can see both sides. Part of me is a royalist for I suppose the sake of tradition and nationalism, nothing wrong with that as such. The other view is that monarchy does nothing for the common man, maybe we should have an elected head of state.
However ER didn't choose to be queen but has dedicated herself to the service of this country, she will never retire and will serve (albeit in luxury) as long as she is able. She has my respect and admiration FWIW.
