    Tiscali / Talk Talk

    Does anyone use this company for their email? I am always having issues with it and wonder if I am the only one.

    The most frequent problem - and what I have had this afternoon and as I write - is that no emails will open. They either sit and wont respond to the mouse click or, if I log-out and then back in whichever I click on first tells me it's corrupted, and then all the others are unresponsive. As I run a business this is extremely inconvenient.

    Tiscali are spectacularly unhelpful and never admit to there being a problem and blame the browser / cookies. However clearing the browser (I use Firefox) history doesn't help and nor does trying Outlook instead. I get the same problem when I get back home if I was having it at work so I know it's Tiscali. At some point, somehow it clears itself after a few hours, day or whatever.

    I keep promising my self that I am going to ditch them as email provider and use my BT account, but it's such a pain as I use the Tiscali email address is one I use and get notifications from other sites so it will be a right palava to change it but, today, I am at the point of going for it.

    I'm no expert mate, but have you tried Google Chrome ? Just a thought. Martin.

      gave up on talk talk many years ago now. Had a huge row with them over their sales gimmick "if its not cheaper then we give you your money back" We spent £30 more with them than BT and had the bills tp prove it... They didnt give the money back or even the difference and blamed us for changing our "useage volume"

      No more Talk talk.....

          I used to use Tiscali and was very satisfied until they were taken over by Talk Talk. Had loads of trouble and no help from them. Changed to Sky about 2 years ago and no trouble at all.

            I emailed them late last night with the issue and got a reply timed at about 5.30 this morning saying that they had received a number of similar complaints. It now seems to be working ok.

            I want to copy my contacts book from Talk Talk so I can then use another mail client - any idea how to do that as I can't see how?

                I must admit I have been a Tiscali user for years and (fortunately) thus far have never had any issues at all or had to call their Asian Help Desk but guess I am one of the lucky ones(so far).

                  I dont try to provide any services in India they are supposed to provide a service in england... SUPPOSED to being the operative word.. amyway it was along time ago and dont get this miserable old sod worked up about it again LOL

                    I have to say that I found Talk Talk to have the worst customer service that I have ever come across, for any company, in any industry, and I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Talk Talk, a communications company- that's an oxymoron!!!!! I left them to go to the Post Office and I have had no problems at all with them.

                        BT IMO can be as bad as Talk Talk. Maybe it was because I cancelled a dual ISDN line in an attempt to go for broadband (for BT, quite a good chunk of cash less) but Talk Talk were not as bad as BT when we tried them. Like many I am now on Sky and it's fine .

                          I have been with Tiscali and talk talk for 5 or so years and have no issues over service .

                            I don't have much of an issue with the broadband - mind you the infrastructure is all BT really - it's the email that I think is problematic
