I had to take out one of my nearside front headlights and found a GREEN wire behind it not connected to anything. A female spade connector was attached so must have been connected to something at some stage. I didn't have time to investigate further but just wondered if it was anything obvious? Everything at the front of the car seems to work OK ie. lights, indicators, horn etc. I suppose it could be something to do with an old alarm that was fitted and removed prior to my ownership.

Where should this wire go??

My guess would be something to do with an old alarm.
Green wires should be for devices that only operate when the ignition is turned on.
I'm copying below a chart that I've found invaluable on numerous occasions. Although I'm afraid it won't help you much here I hope it may be useful in the future or to others.
Cheers
Julian
