The plot thickens. Timing reduced to 14 from 16+ Carbs balanced. Air Leak sorted. Still getting a surg every few seconds. Have noticed that at the same time of the surg the safety belt waring light dips. Not sure if it's related but this is beginning to become very irritating. Hope someone can help. Mike

You could check the distributor base plate,there might be too much slack,you can take it up by bending the tabs over slightly but be warned they can snap off easily especially if they aren't the original plates,while you looking check for wear elsewhere in the distributor.

The distributor was a recon one from Rimmers about 3 yrs ago so should be ok. Though I do have my doubts about the unit . MikeComment
